Failing is Part of Internet Marketing

Well, it’s true actually. Anyone who has found success in IM has failed before. Some failed more often than others; some failed less.

So if you are one of the many who have just started and has NOT fail yet… my advice is to just head out and take action. And when you do flop, congratulations… you are one step closer to success.

There’s a song by Within Temptation entitled ‘Stand My Ground’. The opening lyrics go… “I can see when you stay low, nothing happens…”

How true. If you do nothing with your business how will you ever succeed? If you don’t fail how will you ever improve? The more you fail the more you gain. Here’s why. When you fail and lose some of your precious money or time the more you will remember the lesson. That’s where you will grow. I used to be terrified of losing money on Adwords. But after I lost a few pennies, I soon found some success with Adwords. Now I am never afraid to lose a few pennies to learn new tricks and methods to improve my ad campaigns… It’s that simple.

The big problem is… most of you are too afraid to risk anything. You want to stay in the comfort zone. You want to have a flawless victory or a smooth journey to success. Well let me put it to you this way…

There’s no such thing as a smooth journey. It just does not work that way.

If you are too afraid to take the first step so that you can fail a little at first, you are not cut out to be a successful Internet Marketer.

You MUST find a way to overcome this fear of failing and when you fail you must be able to pick yourself right up. Nike says it best— “JUST DO IT”. Let me remind you what entrepreneurs really are.

They are people who are not afraid to fail over and over again and it is what you must become in order to be successful. And as we all know, most shortcuts are usually small narrow road full of obstacles.

You can’t expect to find a shortcut that is nicely paved and cleaned up for you. The good news however, is that IM is very forgiving about your mistakes compared to a brick-and-mortar business. So don’t be afraid of losing some money or worry about things going wrong if you intend to be successful with your IM business.

Oh yeah, before I end this article... let me just tell you one other thing be prepared to fail a lot... Not once, not even twice. Amit Metha, a super PPC affiliate had 13 failed campaigns before he made his first money online.

I am pretty confident that if you tell yourself that you are willing to give a method 3 tries before you give up, you’ll never succeed. That’s the wrong way to think. What you should be thinking is this… I am NOT going to quit until I see results. Amit could have quit on his 3rd failed campaign, but he didn’t. Now that’s a true entrepreneur.

Imagine failing 13 times and he kept going. Most people would have stopped at three. Learn from this.
