Maths along with English is one of the most essential subjects that a student will study in the course of their academic career. A GCSE qualification in maths will be sought by almost every potential employer irrespective of what career is being applied for. However, maths is one of the most common subjects that students struggle with every single year when it comes to GCSE exams. For this reason a student may turn to an online maths tutor in order to receive some additional help prior to these all important exams.

An online GCSE maths tutor works in a very similar way as would a maths tutor who meets with the student face to face. The student is assigned a tutor and a tuition group which will include between 6-10 other students. The assigning of both the tutor and the tuition group will be appropriate to the student’s ability and the progress that the student is making. The student will also be assigned to a class that is appropriate to the exam board which will be providing their maths exam in order to receive the most specific tuition possible.

The student will need access to a computer that is equipped with a broadband internet connection, a headset and microphone. Using this equipment the student will be able to log on to a secure virtual classroom where they will interact directly with the tutor and other classmates. Tuition sessions will provide the student with opportunities to receive instruction from the tutor, to work in pairs with classmates, to ask questions and to practise sample exam questions. Moreover, the tutor will be available to be contacted outside of online lessons and the online resources provided as part of the tuition will be available to the student at any time.
